Elena Kazmier Radock

Elena Radock lives and creates art on an island in the San Francisco Bay. She bases her art on original concepts, illustrations and photographs. She enjoys working with a variety of media. However, she is repeatedly drawn to painting and quilting textiles - exploring the textures and subtleties of a wide variety of fabrics, paints and dyes.
She works with leather, metal, plastics, fabrics, woods and composite materials - using techniques such as molding, sewing, machining, welding, leather tooling with more traditional artistic means of expression like painting and drawing. She also works with computers to develop 2d and 3d images which she recreates through computer controlled milling machines, lathes, 3d printers and laser cutters. She is just as comfortable in front of an easel or sketchbook as she is in a traditional wood and metal shop or a computer lab connected to CNC machinery.
Her creative inspiration is drawn from a love of nature. Trees and animals - both real and fantastical - are repeated themes in her works. Elena also derives inspiration from Colombian heritage and from her family and friends in the U.S. and throughout the world. Her diverse roots and international experience are a constant underlying theme in her art.
Elena's art has been included in private collections, national exhibits and traveling shows throughout The United States of America and has won several national level awards. She is also published in several magazines and calendars.
In her spare time, she enjoys listening to tin pan alley, latin and big band jazz, dancing salsa and meringue, on and off-road motorcycling, film noir, great food, conversations about international and interpersonal politics, history and relations, long walks on the beach, and hanging out with her husband and their furry friends.
