Discovering watercolor techniques on silk played a big part in my decision to open Silk Creek Studio last year. I love how every silk painting dries differently than expected; my workday is always full of surprises. Inspiration comes from all around me –Alaska, traveling, and family. I use Jacquard Red Label on Crepe De Chine scarves from Dharma Trading Co. Some of the example pictures display works made with Green Label dyes. The finished painting is steamed in a homemade steamer for two hours to set the dye and enhance the colors.
