Being a lifelong artist and enjoyer of color, tie dye seemed like a natural route for me to pursue. I am self taught — I started with mandalas, then hearts, then mushrooms, and with time learned other techniques and styles to really heighten my quality of work. While I make a myriad of different styles of shirts, my favorite shirts to make are a sort of “psychedelic mess” style reminiscent of Kenney style. I particularly love doing reverse dyes, especially on non-black shirts. I want to be able to create art that everyone can enjoy and appreciate; becoming a tie dye artist has allowed me to share my work with anyone. Everyone wears clothes and there is a style that matches any personality. That is what I love about tie dyes and art in general, I can create things that bring joy into anyone’s life. For my tie dyes, I typically ice dye with Procion MX Dyes, I’ve found that I love the dye splits and unique shapes that ice dye yields. I sell my work at local art markets and to friends. Sharing art with the world is truly my dream.
