Jason Gagnon
I am Jason Gagnon and I'm a Fashion Design Major/Fiber Arts Minor at Central Michigan University. I make primarily womenswear that blends a line between "Art Wear" and modern fashion. I like to hand dye or paint my own fabrics for that Artist-like touch. My inspirations range from abstraction to nature. I research what is inspiring me at the moment and use that to create my own textiles.
When I graduate from CMU with my Undergrad and Masters, I plan on pursuing an MFA in Fibers. I plan on teaching Fashion and Fibers at a college/university level and exhibiting work.
In my photos I've sent I have used Jacquard products that have been purchased through your site.
In the greenhouse photoshoot the two garments were hand-dyed with an ombre technique on silk jersey using Periwinkle Jacquard Acid Dye.
The art studio photoshoot is two garments from my collection based on abstraction. I used Jacquard Textile Colors paint and diluted some pigments to obtain lighter results. I used black, sapphire blue, navy, white, and violet. I mixed violet with a bit of sapphire and navy to obtain different shades of purple.
