I love seeing the featured artists on your website, and I hope you will consider my work too.

I am a self-taught artist of Judaica whose work is commissioned by synagogues, community centers, schools, and families throughout the US, Canada, and Israel. I have been making Judaic fiber art for 15 years. My love for silk-painting began when I began dyeing habotai silks to back my hand-cut papercut art. I became familiar with Jacquard Red Label dyes and steam setting. A love of fiber, sewing, painting, and dyeing led to my making commissioned fabric art: Torah covers (to dress the scrolls), Ark curtains, Wall-hangings, and Chuppahs (marriage canopies). I experiment with techniques for dyeing various textures of silk (dupioni and velvets, in particular). I use gutta resist on delicate floral designs, but most of my dyeing is free-form "scrunching" and painting "watercolor-like" gradations of color on stretched silk. I love teaching children to paint silk. They especially enjoy watching the dye spread within the gutta lines they've drawn. I embellish their painted silk to create quilted wall-hangings and Torah covers.
