While working on my BFA in Savannah, GA, I was turned on to DharmaTrading.com by my Fabric Design instructor. I've been in love ever since!

While I spend a lot of my time working on oil paintings, my "fun" work focuses on hand painted silk scarves and hand dyed yardage for quilters. I go back and forth, typically between the Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion dyes and the Jacquard Silk Colors (green label). The ease of the Procion dyes lets me do large quantities in a short amount of time, and are great for my abstract tie-dye patterns, while the gorgeous colors of the silk dyes create beautiful images on my scarves. My current favorite scarves are the habotai (H814) 8mm scarves in the 14"x 72" size. This size is perfect for wear, while being large enough to create a beautiful canvas for my work. My stylized peacock feather design has been a crowd pleaser, and I've recently stumbled onto the metallic Pebeo water-based guttas - I can't wait to work those into my design!

I'd have to say, my current best-seller has been the Silk Triangular Scarf with Fringe (SFTS) - the belly dancers love it! They are also perfect as beach cover-ups in the summer. I haven't found a site that beats the quality and price of Dharma, and these two things are crucial in the development of my business!
