Joanna Lynam

I use the French Gutta Serti technique on crepe de chine silk. I use Jacquard guttas and Vinyl Sulphon Dyes (although, I'm still using up my beloved Procion H dyes!). I've been buying lots of supplies from Dharma since 1990. I even used their products when I moved to Asia for several years, as well as when I carried supplies with me on a backpacking trip to Mexico, living in Puerto Angel and painting fish for a winter. I went out with the fishermen in the mornings and then brought fish home to paint in the afternoons.

My business name is Siren Silks and you can see more of my work at www.sirensilks.com. I love the chance and dance of painting - often things don't go according to plan... These "mistakes" often lead you in an exciting new direction. I am always experimenting with different dyes, techniques, and fabrics. What you see in my shop is the result of 20 years of painting and playing on fabric.
