Mountain Made Tie Dye

Hi! I’m Joel, owner and chief dyer of Mountain Made Tie Dye, making one-of-a-kind pieces in the mountains of Tijeras, New Mexico. From T-shirts and sweatshirts to overalls, beanies, bandanas, socks, and more, every item is unique. When I’m not dyeing, I’m rollerskating, hiking, traveling, or hanging with my wife Shannon (MMTD’s marketing maestro) and our dog Snoopy.

Vibrant color and the freedom to create the unexpected inspire me. My goal? That every shirt, sweatshirt, or bandana becomes a FAVORITE—something people feel confident in and that reflects their individuality.

Dharma Trading Co. is my go-to for supplies—especially their dyes (Alchemist is my current fav), plus dredges, tools, sinew, soda ash, bandanas, socks, and dog tank tops (Snoopy approves).

Advice for makers: make what you love, not what you think others want. If it comes from your heart, the right people will find it. Be yourself… and ‘Wear What You Dig!’
