Kari Kline Design

I learned the art of silk painting in South Carolina, and instantly fell in love with it. I've now started a business creating wearables, wall hangings, and items for home décor. I also am a watercolor artist, and have worked with wood block prints, acrylics, computer art, and collage.
When I learned silk painting in South Carolina, I was immediately drawn to the immense intensity and beauty of the dyes, which were so unlike any of the other mediums I'd used.
I like using Jacquard dyes both for their price points, and the wonderful results they allow. I've tried Dupont dyes, Dye-na-Flow, and Sennelier, but continually find myself going back to the Jacquard dyes.
I do however, use the Setacolor fabric paint by Pebeo for painting suncatchers.
I also use Jacquard resists, two of my favorites being Bronze and Copper.
I frequently purchase many of the silk clothing blanks offered by Dharma, such as the silk scarves and pillows cases. I particularly like the choice Dharma gives its customers as to purchasing sewn or unsewn blanks.
As my customer base grows, my next big purchase will be one of the larger steamers listed in the Dharma catalog.
I've been a customer of Dharma for at least ten years, and definitely plan to remain. One of the main reasons is the helpful, resourceful service I've gotten over the years. I've found that many of the people who work at Dharma are artists themselves, and I think this adds a whole other dimension to their customer service!
I would really like people to take away a feeling of peace from my artwork. I'd like to make the world a more beautiful place, and ideally, have everyone see, at least for a moment, the more mystical, magical part of the world.
