Kevin Freeland
Hippie Stash

Hi my name is Kevin Freeland. I am a full-time tie dye artist that lives in Palm Coast, Florida. I make clothing, tapestries, and canvas-stretched tie dyes. My inspiration comes from my time living in Key West on a sailboat for most of my young adult life, living like a hippie every day chilling on the beach. As I got older my inspiration changed and now I am inspired by my family and the travels we have together.
I use fiber reactive dyes, textile detergent, and soda ash. These days I mostly use the ice dye technique. When I started tie dye I was out of work for 3 months and not sure what to do. I woke up one morning and told my wife I think I am going to start tie dyeing — she said go for it. So I went and bought the starter kit off Dharma Trading Company and made 45 shirts and set up at my local market and did very well even though I had no tent, no cards, and racks that I had at my house. After that I decided to go all in and have not looked back since. I am blessed to be a full-time tie dye artist. Thank you to Dharma!
