Krupa Paranjape

Every thing I create is handmade, with lot of love and care, just for you from my happy place… to yours!
"Do What You Love, and You'll Never Work Another Day in Your Life"…
After design school, I worked as a textile designer and color consultant for 12 years before I called it quit one fine morning to take a break and build on my dream… now I have a little studio corner at my home that I call my happy place!
I started my own label Krupa Paranjape in 2015 that offers unique handmade home products and accessories.
I grew up watching my grandmother and my mom embroider beautiful stuff for our home and you will always see this influence in some of my work.
I am often asked at craft markets why a lady bug/bird as my shop logo when most of my designs are based on birds… so here is a little story behind it… When I was little we had many little red visitors at home from the greens around… you guessed it right… Their bright color caught my eyes each time I saw them and I fell in love these tiny visitors.
"Ladybird, you're very neat
From tiny head to little feet,
I like your coat of red and black,
I like your clean and shining back.
Do you polish it each night
To make it shine so gay and bright,
Or do you keep a tiny fay
Who rubs it up for you each day?
Beneath your shiny back there lie
The gauzy wings with which you fly,
You're spreading them - oh please don't go,
There's such a lot I want to know.
Your house is burning, do you say?
Ah, well, of course, you mustn't stay!"
- Enid Mary Blyton
Dharma products I use :
Jacquard Textile colors
Just love using Jacquard textile colors for all my hand painted pillow covers and wall decor. They are so easy to use and last long.
The feel of the fabric is so soft.I prefer using these colors as I work on mixed media techniques and do lot of hand embroidery on hand painted pillows and the results are amazing.
Indigo kit
I always made the Indigo vat the traditional way as the vat lasted long and gave amazing results. This was the first time I decided to try Pre reduced Indigo kit and was very happy with the results. It was so simple to use with clear instructions also got darker shades which look amazing.
Cotton Duck Tote Bag with Zipper closure
I love the size of this bag and so do my customers. They are just perfect for hand embroidery or block printing.
My work is inspired from nature & mostly dominated by birds, botanical drawings, trees and cactus. I love working on mixed media techniques to give a dimension.
Products: Hand embroidered, hand painted, block printed & shibori pillow covers, home decor, totes & magnets.
