I have used Dharma products for many, many projects over the years. These pictures are of marbled and tie-dyed baby outfits -- the marbled items are also hand sewn (its easiest to marble the fabric flat, then cut and sew). The tie-dyeing is done with the procion fiber reactive dyes, presoaked in soda ash. The marbling uses an alum presoak, carageenan solution for floating the paints and regular acrylic fabric paint from the craft store (I am planning on ordering some better quality paints from Dharma soon, though).
These little bitty works of wearable art are being sold as a fundraising effort to support a charity organization called Woman to Woman, Hand in Hand, which provides no-cost prenatal/labor/postpartum support to low-income pregnant women and new moms. If you would be interested in learning more about the organization, the type of support they provide (called "doula" support), giving a donation, or purchasing one of the outfits (choose one thats already made or make a special request!), please visit our website: WomanToWomanDoulas.googlepages.com.
