I am a quilt artist, there is much more to an art quilt beside fabrics, sewing and quilting. It is creative design with fabric using a few or many ideas to embellish the art: fabric dyeing, color in paints, colored pencil or pens, placement of the design, free motion on the sewing machine, attaching disparate parts, thread painting, adding embellishments as beads, laces, ribbon, rat tail, yarn, tulle, anything which makes the design interesting and comfortable to view. Then the quilting and deciding on the finish; large, small or no border, two borders, etc. Looking at a finished product is akin to seeing a truly happy face by my side.
Of course, as with any good art, Time, Patience and Enjoyment are essential to see my art to an individual conclusion.
Dharma has been at the fore of my design process; beginning with the fabric I paint on. I received my paints, dyes, supplies, pencils, brushes and education from this most unique site. If you have a talent, Dharma can make it better.
