Hey, all! My name is Lindsay Burger and I'm the woman behind The 8th House Dyeing Company, or 8th House Dyes for short. I create unique, individually ice dyed garments thanks to a life-long desire to use my imagination, work with my hands, and leave things more esthetically pleasing than I found them.

I am largely inspired by daily life; making garments that I would personally like to see tie dyed (aprons, makeup bags, cardigan "dusters", and lounge wear) using color combinations that encourage me to step out of my role as "Mom" for a little while. And with names like Coven, Pan, Stormy, The King Lizard, and Candlelight I have almost as much fun naming the colorways as I do putting them together.

I use Dharma Fiber Reactive Dyes exclusively and only work with 80% cotton blends or 100% cotton. Ice dyeing is my process of choice and prefer on the rack versus in the muck.

If i could offer a piece of advice to my fellow Creators I'd say: do one thing "artistic" every day! Even if it's as simple walking outside and finding 5 things that catch your attention (this practice has inspired a couple of my colorways)!

For many years this side of me was put on the backburner while I started a career, got married, became a mom, etc. One day I woke up and realized I had ignored a huge part of who I once was for entirely too long. That week I began researching the ice dyeing process and the rest is history!
