Lisa Colette

I am based on the south coast of Wales, UK, a very rural area surrounded by rolling green hills and dramatic craggy coastlines. The area I grew up in has inspired my designs on silk, especially when it comes to using opposite colours using the contrast to enhance each tone on shimmery silk. From my years of travelling I have picked up ideas along the way from super bright use of primary colours from Sri Lanka to the muted silvery grey and warm brown tones of Autumn in England. My favourite style is to use very vibrant colour contrasts and experimental dying techniques which always produce unpredictable and unrepeatable patterns.
The dyes I use are Dupont steam fix dyes on fabulous silk items from Dharmatrading. I offer a range of silk scarves, my most popular being the machine hemmed 8mm habotai along with a 8mm habotai silk squares are always a hit too. My favourite scarf to dye is the fabulous 5mm silk veil, I love to wear these as they can be wrapped around twice and gives great bounce around your neckline. I have recently started dyeing silk camisoles which are going down a storm because they feel so luxurious against your skin, so I hope to start dyeing silk dresses next!
