My interest in dyeing actually began with natural dyeing of yarns in 1987, and then I started weaving and dyeing my own yarns using Procion Fiber Reactive dyes from DHARMA! Space-dyeing was fun, but I moved on to value-grading, hue-grading and rainbow dyeing of cottons, rayons and silk yarns for other weavers/fiber artists. I discovered Dharma's silk scarves: a great canvas to try out colorways for the rainbow-dyed yarns. Then I fell in love with dyeing these scarves, particularly the silk charmeuse. It will melt in your mouth if not in your hand! The enthusiasm of others when they see the color and the quality of the scarves has been a real kick! Several galleries here in Mississippi are carrying them, as well as a gallery in North Carolina. Dharma has been great to work with. Everyone is friendly and helpful when I call. Moreover, if I call on a Monday morning, I have my order sometimes by Wednesday using FedEx Saver. I cannot say enough nice things about Dharma.
I'd also like to thank Chet Cohron of Jackson Mississippi for the photo of the yarn on the cotton bale. Thanks again Dharma for this opportunity!
