Martha Bennett

My name is Martha Bennett from Sturgeon Bay, WI. I'd been naturally dying silk scarves for three years, but decided I wanted to get more colorful. I thought silk painting might be fun but while I was scanning through how-to's on the web, I came across some videos for ice/snow dying. It was the middle of winter, so I decided to try it with the abundance of snow available. I purchased Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion Dyes, blank tees and some rayon scarves from Dharma Trading. I loved the results so much, I decided this was going to be my new focus. When I started dyeing the assymetrical tank tops from Dharma, I really had a hit on my hands. I'm now ice-dyeing the long-sleeved hanky hem tunics as well as sweatshirts for the winter months.
I'm excited my Etsy shop has been well-received and look forward to doing even more festivals here in Door County next summer.
