Mary Frances Millet
I have been painting and teaching water colors for many years and recently have begun painting on silk in the past year. I have painted portraits, landscapes and whimsical illustrations for clients, all with Jacquard silk dyes and Habotai silk scarves from Dharma Trading. I am especially inspired by the ocean and it's ever changing moods.I use salt most often to create texture in my silk painting. It lends a feeling of joy and will even help to "cover up" a challenging area by wicking away the dye. I have always had good luck with the products from Dharma. The scarves have no flaws and the dyes are vivid. I am proud to say I now teach silk painting at senior communities, libraries and home gatherings.
