I'm an artist/designer and I live in Brooklyn, NY. My background is in Fashion where I've worked as a Designer for various companies in NYC. I've always loved painting and enjoy working in various mediums. This year (2014) I decided to try my hand at painting on silk and have discovered an amazing material to express my creativity. I will usually freely draw my design with gutta, then paint directly on the fabric. I also love experimenting with hand dying using acid dyes.
My inspiration comes from my passion for gardening. Besides referencing my own garden, I enjoy taking trips around either my neighborhood or to the garden center. This always sparks some new designs. I also love incorporating animals in my designs. There are some days, however, that I feel the need to allow the painting to be more organic, which is when I will freely experiment. Currently my focus is on scarves, but my goal is to expand my creativity into unique wearable clothing pieces.
