Maxxine Kurtzbein
Maxxine, a retired school teacher and avid watercolorist, became interested in silk painting in 1992 and has since pursued the craft diligently. She had taken classes from Jan Janas, Susan Moyer, and other prominent artists. Her work appears in two books by Janas & Tuckman.
Maxxine teaches silk painting for Central Oregon Community College and in her studio. A quote from this happy painter: "How thrilling to have discovered this most exciting medium. The brilliant colors blend in intriguing designs - the challenge as the dyes stubbornly do their own beautiful thing - the artist never having total control. Experimentation unlimited. Results glorious!"
