And I am a silk-dye artist. I mainly make Japanese kimono and kanzashi (hair-flowers). I use 10mm habotai for both and Procion H liquid concentrate dyes (which are fantastic!). I make my own resist the Japanese way; with rice bran, rice flour, and calx. I also use a Japanese system of shinshi and harite to stretch the silk. My brushes are mostly watercolor brushes, but i have one big 3" bamboo brush for backgrounds. :)
My mom sells the things i make on E-bay; our name is Artjunkie_inc on there. You can also e-mail me at clockwork_faerie@yahoo.com for custom-dyed kanzashi and kimono.
