Throughout my life, I have always valued creativity, and have sought ways to become more creative. Inspired by my husband's photography, I recently returned to college to pursue a degree in fine art.
My work as an artist is ever evolving. A year and a half ago, I was introduced to silk painting and dyeing, and found that the luster of silk provides a beautiful surface for creating the vivid colors and original designs that I use to fashion a one-of-a-kind scarf. Elements of nature and the human form have influenced my designs. I have experimented with various silks and techniques. I work mainly with the Serti technique, using Jacquard Gutta on my favorite Dharma product, silk satin. I also create matted and framed wall art using my silk pieces. My desire is to find the patterns of my creativity and put them into a form that can be enjoyed by all.
