Renelle M. Legos

http://www.FatBottomPurls.etsy.comMy name is Renelle M. Legos, also known as FatBottomPurls on etsy, ravelry, tumblr, instagram, and snapchat. I'm primarily a fiber artist with spinning being my main focus. I also knit, write knitting patterns, hand dye fiber, and dabble in lots of other mediums.

The process of creating is what really motivates me. I love the feeling of wool running through my hands when I spin or finally figuring out that little detail in a knitting pattern. I also love to see the way colors play with each other within the medium of fiber.
I use Dharma acid dyes in almost every fiber project I create!
I've always been a creative person, taking every available art class in high school and studying fine art at the University at Buffalo, but I didn't really dive into creating until I suddenly developed depression and anxiety years ago. I needed something to keep my hands busy so my mind would stay calm so I decided to learn how to crochet. Crocheting was fun but I'm always looking for new techniques, so that led to knitting, and eventually spinning. Fiber arts have kept me focused and give me something to think about when other thoughts are trying to push their way into my head. Creativity keeps me living, in every aspect, and as weird as it sounds to be thankful to an art form, I truly am.
