Richard Rogers

This year is my 31st year of tie-dyeing. I constantly experiment and observe the results to improve my craft. I've found tie-dye to be especially rewarding art form, because I love the interplay of color and pattern. Tie-dyeing has been my full time occupation for over 25 years. I started selling at craft fairs and music events for several years, and then switched to selling completely wholesale for about 10 years. When the internet came along I learned HTML, wrote a web site, and gradually moved my business to the internet. I've outfitted over ten tie-dye weddings, and many sports teams. I'm the official outfitter of the Haight-Ashbury Umpires Association (HAUA) which has started a fad among baseball players--they get tie-dyed sports shirts.

Dharma Trading is an extremely valuable resource for clothing blanks. I get dresses, bathing suits, sports bras, baby and children's clothing, T-shirts, tank tops, Dr. Coats, Scrubs, and more from Dharma. Many of these garments can not be found in 100% cotton anywhere else, and certainly not "sewn with cotton thread." One of the best items in recent years has been doctor/lab coats. Many individuals have purchased them--doctors, nurses, teachers (especially science teachers), veterinarians, and my personal favorite--pediatricians. I've sold coats to Xerox, Los Alamos laboratory, Livermore Laboratory, and students at 20+ universities and colleges including Harvard Medical School, Yale, and Texas A & M.

I've been selling on the internet for about 15 years. I publish a newsletter at the end of each month with special offers and discounts. If you'd like to be included just send me an email with "EMAIL LIST" in the subject line.
