Rohana Laing

I am an artist working out of my home studio on a small, beautiful island called Gabriola, near Nanaimo BC Canada. After busy careers as 1) a studio artist and college art teacher 2) a United Church of Canada minister, and 3) a mom raising 3 sons, I now do what I love: producing, exhibiting and selling batik and acrylic paintings. I also enjoy my property in a forest near the ocean, singing in a choir, being active in the Subud Spiritual Association. I have been inspired by international travel and westcoast landscape. I use procion fiber reactive dyes and have batiks from the 70s that look as good as new!
