Roy Camarillo
My name is Roy Camarillo. I am an artist, a teacher, and a writer. For enjoyment, I usually go into the garage and chip arrowheads using aboriginal methods, but flint may be one of the few artist resources you will not find at Dharma's.
I recently completed a series of Judaica life-cycle pieces and found myself working in a new medium: painting on silk. With the patient assistance of the Dharma Trading folks, I started from scratch building a canvas stretcher, then learned the delicate art of using Gutta Resist and liquid dyes. I absolutely loved the results! I featured the challah covers at a show in Santa Rosa and even sold a few. I highly recommend the Jacquard brand of resist and dyes.
