I am a hand-weaver and textile designer living on the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona! My weaving journey started a little over six years ago after stumbling upon the world of beautiful handwoven baby wraps. I honestly became slightly obsessed with learning how to make one of my own, as I had two kiddos and was nannying two others; baby wearing was a daily necessity.
So, one day I went for it! I drove 2 hours from home to pick up a used floor loom, studied Elizabeth Wagner's collection of handwaving tutorials on YouTube and I've been weaving ever since.
I started exclusively weaving baby wraps and using only factory pre-dyed yarns. However, it wasn't long before I started trying my hand at dyeing and exploring other projects. As I typically only work with natural fibers (cotton, tencel, bamboo mostly), I placed my first ever Fiber Reactive Procion Dye order through Dharma Trading Co… And I have been ordering more and more dye and dyeing supplies from them ever since.
Today I still weave baby wraps but I also weave shawls, scarves, rugs, and scrap fabric for other creators to turn into something completely new (bags, stuffed animals, baby carriers).
All of my projects today feature Procion Dyes and I imagine they always will.
