I painted the pieces shown below for my sons wedding, which took place in upstate N.Y. I used an 11 yd. bolt of your 45" charmeuse cut in two, and divided it into 8' lengths. I used gold gutta for the outlines, and DID'NT HAVE TO STEAM THEM! Just ironed them, and the color held perfectly and hung in the bright sunlight all day long. I haven't had time to test how they'd be in the long run, but they seem excellent to me so far.

We sewed a narrow hem on the raw edge, and turned over enough at the top and bottom to take a piece of pvc pipe. Then, we strung them up on bamboo poles and inserted them into concrete bases. My son, who does special effects for movies, rigged them with the help of folks who do the Village Halloween parade in N.Y.C. every year.

They really added to the festive atmosphere of the day. I also painted a dozen of your small crepe scarves for the bridal party as a gift to the bride. They wore them as they liked -- around their heads, waists, and necks, and tied to their bouquets so it pulled the whole look together. I'm happy to tell you that the scarves took the dye very well. Thanks again, Dharma, for prompt delivery and great products!

All the best,

Sharifa
