Silkpainting in Haiti
Dear Dharma Trading,
About ten years ago I taught a group of poor women in the mountains of Haiti to paint on silk scarves as part of an experiment to see if they could make a living through their artwork. Their success have had a big and positive effect on the whole community, and our art center is thriving (artmatenwa.org).
We buy much of our materials from you, and I thought you'd like to see some of the artists and their work.
