Stephanie Rasulo

Hello, my name is Stephanie Rasulo, I am a fashion designer and seamstress. I make clothing out of fabric that I dye or paint myself. I mostly do shibori dyeing, which is similar to tie dyeing and originated in Japan. Shibori involves folding, twisting, stitching or otherwise compressing the fabric before dyeing it, so that beautiful patterns are created when the fabric is opened back up.
I have been sewing for over 15 years, and I predominantly sew with my own hand dyed fabrics. It is pretty hard to go back to store bought fabrics once you have started dyeing your own fabrics. I have become hooked on experimenting with colors and binding techniques. With shibori there is an endless number of combinations to be made and the results are always a surprise!
I sell my clothing and accessories on Etsy at StephanieRasulo.etsy.com.
I have used a variety of fabrics from Dharma, mostly lightweight silks and cottons, I prefer to use natural fibers. For dyes I use the Procion fiber reactive dyes, they have the best color selection and the colors are vibrant!
Thank you Dharma Trading for helping me to do the work that I love, you are the best!
