Susan Skove

1. Who I am and what I make.
Susan is a graduate of the Cooper School of Art. She began painting on silk in 1991, and has studios in Cleveland and Oberlin, Ohio. Her "Skov Silk, painted by hand, one at a time" scarves are carried by museum stores and galleries throughout the U.S., including the Cleveland Museum of Art, New York Museum of Art and Design, Grand Rapids Museum of Art, Toledo Museum of Art, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. In addition to museum stores, her work can also be found on Skov Silk and Skov Silk Gallery.
2. What Inspires me to create
Like any form of art, silk painting it is a play between inspiration, technique, and being lucky enough to see both what the piece calls me to do next and when it is done. My work is essentially about form and color. The exploration of form and color can express itself into many images, abstract to representational.
