We're from the Petaluma Wildlife Museum Summer Camp, where part of our curriculum includes doing super fun art projects, like tie-dye! Each year for the past 5 years, we've had our campers tie-dye their own summer camp t-shirts, allowing them a moment of creative expression, and with the goal of sparking a life-long love and appreciation of tie-dye.
For myself, tie-dye was a huge part of my childhood, as I did it every year at a summer camp I attended as well. I'm hoping our campers look at their awesome T-shirts for years to come and that they remind them of their summer camp memories, as my old tie-dyed shirts do for me. Summer camp is forever!
All of our shirts are dyed using various colors of the 2 oz Fiber Reactive Dye, after being soaked in soda ash fixer.
