Amitola Tie Dyes
Hi there!
I’m Karls. I am a Cape Cod born ice-tie-dye artist and mother of six children who loves to believe the impossible is possible. When I was a child, I wanted to be a mother, an artist, and a teacher. Today, I am all three and I absolutely love believing that it is no accident that I am here on earth in human form blessed with the opportunity to create together with all of you.
My dear love of my life encouraged me to start Amitola Tie Dyes when my 5th child was born and I agreed it was time to begin living my dream of creating from home as a means of both supporting my family as well as guiding all of my children with love as they grow. These kids are everything. Without them, Amitola Tie Dyes wouldn’t exist.
Everything we offer is unique, one of a kind, vibrant (thank you, Dharma Trading Co!), and dyed by hand in our kitchen or on our deck while listening to upbeat tunes. The products and process we use ensure that we are able to offer ice dyed textiles that do not fade in the wash or sun (just like our love that…will not fade away). I’m grateful to declare that I trust and continue to use a plethora of high quality Dharma Trading branded products such as their: natural fiber dyeables, fiber reactive procion dyes, soda ash, detergent, and various tools including spoons, sinew, and amazing color charts. I cannot even begin to imagine tie dying without Dharma’s special formula dyes.
Such fun it can be listening to wind chimes and laughter, watching the kids help do “reveals” in a kiddie pool in our backyard as honey bees zip by to visit our garden and as our chatty chickens dance around us with such curiosity. Oh, what true magic there is in carefully untying and rinsing each piece as the art begins to reveal itself. It sure seems as though our vibes and energy at the time of creating the art are imprinted in the final product (hence why we create with intention, listening to high frequency music.)
As we place value on presence, at this time most of our inventory can only be found in person. Yet I will say we sure do hope to offer unique gifts online soon. Updates will be made on our Instagram. Please reach out to us! We’d love to hear from you.
We believe in ripples and thus our mission is to make someone somewhere smile. Hopefully, that’s you. We are very much interested in the vibrational frequency of the entire collective we are; let’s raise and rise up together.
