There's this guy, Gary, down in Texas that grows cotton 100% organically. Their cotton is planted in mid-May and harvested after frost in November. The harvested cotton is ginned at their certified organic gin and then shipped to a certified mill in North Carolina for spinning into yarn. The yarn is also knitted, finished and sewn in the Carolinas. Their products have a pedigree, as they can tell you when and where they were planted and trace their development into a finished product.
I don't mean they do it all in their kitchen. They've created a textile industry around these T-shirts. It's quite an accomplishment to make a T-shirt from seed, sun and water, don't you think?
Anyhow, the t-shirts are nice, 5.75 oz. jersey, standard size to start, sewn with cotton wrapped poly thread, double needle hems and neckline. Natural color, takes dyes very well but the thread does not.
