Aluminum Acetate Mordant

Aluminum Acetate is used for mordanting primarily cellulose and bast fibers. It is used in combination with cellulose scour which helps prepare the fibers for dyeing. You may use percentages from 5-10% on the weight of the fiber.

When mordanting cotton or cellulose, aluminum acetate must be fixed to the fibre prior to dyeing; you may use wheat bran or calcium carbonate.
