I started painting on silk a few years ago. A friend of mine was doing an art show here in my hometown, and she asked me if I wanted to learn a new art; I said yes, of course. She said all I need is a place to do it. I told her to come on over, and and we painted on silk for hours, and hours -- for two days. That's how I got started. If I have questions, I just call Dharma.
I use Procion liquid H series, since they have the most vivid colors. I also use Jacquard Waterbased Resist, with the Gutta Applicators with metal tips and 2oz. squeeze bottles for chemwater. I wash all my silks in Synthrapol before painting. I also use Urea and Ludigal. I use Sodium Alginate to thicken the dyes as well. I order all my silks from Dharma. Thank you Dharma!
