Jeremy Hopke

Hello my name is Jeremy Hopke and I make tie dyes. I've been making tie dyes for almost 4 years now. I go to ITT-tech for college and I work at Petco until I graduate. I started out using walmart dyes, rubber bands, and plastic bags for my dyes. That was until I found Dharma Trading Co, which has supplied me for the past 3 years. Now instead of walmart dyes, I use Dharma fiber reactive Procion dyes, and also an assortment of chemicals such as soda ash, urea, and Dharma Professional Textile Detergent which is a substitute for Synthrapol. I still use rubber bands but only on my spirals but I use artificial sinew for everything else. Instead of using plastic bags I now use shallow plastic tubs and keep them at a pretty warm temp for almost 24 hours. I would have never started tie dying if it wasn't for my wonderful, amazing, girlfriend. She's been with me from the start; it just started out as a date making some tie dyes, bonding, then I fell in love with the art of making the tie dyes. I always love to learn more and teach people who are just starting. I hope I'll be making tie dyes till the day I die! Thanks to Dharma Trading without you guys I wouldn't be making great tie dyes.
