Sara Gordon

I run a small home-based tie-dye gig called Tie Dye By Sara. I decided to try and turn doing something I love into cash in my pocket in the summer of 2007. My husband was a long-haul trucker at the time. He has since 'come home' and after stopping my dye work to get back into our 'normal' routine of chaos; I decided to have a go at it again.

I did a stint at our local farmer's market and three festivals in 2008. I then went back to school for a year and had to leave for health reasons (Daily migraines aren't my bag). So, this year (2010) I'm back to festivals. I have five lined out this summer. If you're in the area, message me and I can let you know where I'll be. I use the procion mx dyes, the Dharma Professional Textile Detergent, the soda ash, urea and dye fixative. I also order my applicator bottles from Dharma. I ordered the sinew to tie with, then found I actually preferred the non waxy feel of the rubber bands. But, all was not lost, my husband makes dream catchers and he loves it for his webbing. ?¢¬Ä¬®You can message me from Facebook and MySpace, or through my email. There are more pictures with updates as I get new pics done on the Facebook and MySpace pages.

Sometimes it takes a bit to post them, especially if its festival season. I am on Facebook daily, unless I'm at a festival. I also have an ArtFire shop. I had an Etsy shop, but the fees were getting me down. ArtFire has no fees for a basic account, so I just pay for my PayPal fees and nothing more. Also, unlike Etsy, you don't have to have an account to buy anything. My sizes run from newborn to 4XL and everything in between. I have tank tops, Ts, dresses, long and short sleeve onesies, baby Ts, hair bunchies, bandanas, triangle head scarves, flannel baby blankets, kitchen cloths and towels, bathroom wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels. That's just the stuff that's dyed. I also have earrings, key rings, beaded hair tails, flax seed neck warmers, hand molded/painted "mushroom men" and stuffed knit mice. I have over 400 pieces in stock normally. If I don't have the size, colors or style you want, just place a custom order.
