Tie Dye John

Hi Everyone,

My name is John, I'm known in some circles as Tie Dye John, in some others I'm known as Dr. Johnny Love. I've been doing tie-dye for about 13 years. At one time, I was taken under the wings of Ben and Jeremy, some of your featured artists. Those guys are really the Michaelangelos of tie-dye. I use all the common products, urea, soda ash, glaubers salt, sodium alginate thickener, and synthrapol. I also use super clear when I'm painting dye onto the tapestries along with afterfix. I'm a substance abuse counselor (been clean since Dec. 5, 1997) by day, and on the weekends, I get creative when the opportunity arises. Lately, the kaleidoscope in my head has been leaking out onto the canvas. I like to use flannel sheets and fine linen tablecloths as my canvas.

I visit the store in San Rafael every once in a while, but more often just buy over the phone. I live in Northern California, up in Yuba City.
