I used just Glaubers salts at 20% WOF with and without Albegal. So wishing I had used it the first time around! Without the results were mottled and incomplete. The dye didnt exhaust quite as well but given that the color was perfectly even for a deep shade of red I was happy. I keep seeing people insist that Albegal isnt needed for the home dyer but I learned the hard way on $200 of silk jacquard. I am an experienced dyer I am a chemist by training and do everything by weight and still got uneven results with GS only. So yes you may be a small batch dyer but if you are using deep shades high volume yardage or hard to achieve colors (true red) then use this.
