Use With

Calcium Carbonate (also known as chalk) is a white mineral powder used in natural dyeing to adjust dye baths and enhance color development. It is especially popular with madder dyeing, where it helps produce deeper shades of reds.

Commonly used with cotton and other cellulose fibers, Calcium Carbonate may be added directly to the madder dye bath to enrich color. It is also a naturally occurring mineral and one of the primary contributors to hard water.

Ideal for natural dyeing, botanical dye projects, fabric dyeing, yarn dyeing, immersion dyeing, solar dyeing, and traditional textile processes.

The recommended amount of calcium carbonate is 5% WOF, approx. 1 teaspoon for 100 grams of fiber.
