Product Description

Natural Yarns to dye in solid colors or hand paint into variegated yarns. They are natural in color and come in skeins averaging about 8 ounces unless otherwise noted.

Priced and sold by the skein, which are wound in loose hanks and ready for your dye pot (we recommend pre-washing with Dharma's Professional Textile Detergent first for best results). For the best and most professional results, use our Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion Dye for the cottons, rayon blends, and bamboo, and either the Dharma or the Jacquard Acid Dyes for the wools and silks and nylon. We also carry a selection of Natural Dyes.

The Sample Card (#YARNFS) comes with 8" samples of every yarn, so you can get a better idea of how they look and feel.

Love Love LOVE the LP worsted and bulky. So easy to dye with acid dye knits up beautifully. Also love the silk noil. Gonna try some of the Kona super wash next...can't wait!I get the best results with wool when I presoak the skein in warm water with a tiny bit of Textile Detergent for half an hour before dying. It really opens up the wool for the best color striking.

I bought yarn #4 alpacawool blend. I am knitting it without dying it. Made a hat and now am working on a scarf. Natural color is nice. Yarn is warm very soft a little scratchy but OK for me. Quantity in 1 skein is enough for both hat and scarf.

I have used this yarn to weave blankets and in a weft faced weave for rugs. I have purchased it retail from knitting stores and I thought it was a good value. Dharma's price is an unbelieveably good value. I used acid dyes and the result was brilliant colors.

I am always happy with the products I order from Dharma Trading Co. I love these yarns especially! They come in generous 8 oz. skeins and they take acid dyes well.

Yarn #44 Alpaca Lace is a very nice yarn. The yardage I got on my skein was 2178 quite a bit off of the 2480 listed. I am a weaver and used a yardage counter when I prepared by yarn for dying. So if yardage is an issue for you you might consider this. The total weight of the yarn was 8oz. So that matched. Otherwise this yarn dyed very nicely with Dharma acid dyes. The purple haze will make an amazing scarf. I also got good space dyed yarn with this yarn and Dharma dyes.

I bought "adorable" yarn It is so wonderful to knit with and the acid dyes love it. I did a tri color dye bath with blue green and yellow and the yarn was so beautiful.I knitted a beautiful shawl out of 2 skeins and have plenty leftover to knit a hat and some gloves to match.

Absolutely the best yarn value around! I'm making woolie things for my sister who is moving to a farm in upstate NY this fall where it gets really cold and snowy in winter. I ordered some Gaia Bulky Cuddles Lamb's Pride Bulky plus a jar of Dharma's Acid dye in Fire Engine Red her favorite color. The dye set beautifully so now that stash is quickly turning out cozy RED hats scarves mittens and boot-toppers. The hanks were all knot free easy to work and so soft that I had no qualms about using them for hats and scarves that could have been scratchy if made out of ordinary wool yarn.

#59: Kid Mohair Lace (Brushed): UGH! I was hoping for something that felt similar to Kidsilk Haze - yeah I know this has nylon and not silk but nylon is if you will silky too - but this is the scratchiest worst mohair yarn I've ever felt. I wouldn't even use it for cat mats. I dyed it but it was so bad I donated the whole thing to charity. Maybe it would make a good rug.

I mostly use acid dyes so I wanted to see how this dyed with acid dyes. Better than I imagined! The colors were vibrant and almost irridescent. Every one who sees it loves the colors.

NOT a 202 yarn. Don't get me wrong GREAT yarn no breaks and no reties. Just not as small as a yarn that I expected.
