Setasilk silk paints are so thin that they act like a dye, which makes them perfect for the Serti Technique on silk with non-toxic water based resists. You can use salt and alcohol with them for special effects, just like you can with dyes. They are also good on most fabrics for watercolor technique, hassle free tie dye, spray designs, batik, and Sun Painting (also known as Heliographic art).

Easy to use with an acceptble range of colors to start with. The bottles have a fold-over spout that allows you to squeeze drops (or a stream) but can get messy unless wiped clean. Good product - responds to salt and alchohol just as advertised.

I dyed/painted twelve scarves for Christmas gifts. I thought the colors were beautiful. They blended and fused to my satisfaction. I didn't need to set the colors with heat, but I did.

Like these paints very much. Great for art quilts. Nice bright colors with only iron setting. Dharma has quick and easy ordering and delivery.
