Addie Silk Art: Silk Painting Lessons DVD 1

Im sold! I have always been interested in silk painting but thought it was too difficult and unapproachable. My boyfriend got me this DVD for the holidays. What a great idea! This DVD has inspired me to pursue silk painting. The DVD is very well laid out in chapter by chapter lessons highlighting techniques and helpful hints. The lessons are jam packed with practical information about painting on silk. The instructor makes it so easy to follow: taking you through the process from blank silk to the finished product. I highly recommend this DVD.

I just received this video. It is a bit slow but is also very interesting. The techniques and information are great for beginners as well as advanced. The production is fact filled and easy to understand. It is important to read the jacket for resource information. Her art is bright cheerful and inspiring! I wish she had elaborated a bit more but this is a good item for any silk painters' library!We will enjoy it in class and at our newly formed "SPIN" group Silk Artists of the California Central Coast!Thank youTina Santa Maria

This DVD is excellent for demonstrating different silk painting techniques. I want to create the same kind of vivid brilliant pieces that Addie does. I love her work. She is a genius with colors. As with flowers in a garden all her colors look wonderful together. She is inspired.

You must add this DVD to your collection. I have watched this workshop several times. There are several things I learn each time. Silk painting is beautiful but I need to get a good understanding of simple line drawing for my large pieces. I love detail but often have too much and end up calling it abstract art. This is helping me to simplify line. Also color is critical and you get tons of examples in one painting alone. I never thought to combine color like this and love how instructor simplifies use of it. I duplicated one of the instructors drawings and still can't believe instant results. I am now moving towards creating my own pieces with more confidence.

Addie is a great inspiration and has some wonderful techniques for painting using lots of color.
