Removable Water-based Resist is a superior resist that easily washes out with warm water (even after steaming or setting), revealing the white or colored silk beneath. This new formula holds a crisp line without spreading and does not shrink or pucker when dry. Always paint the dye or paint on after the resist is dry. Never submerge in a dye bath.
Removable Resist may be tinted with any water-based dye for colored lines and is screenable, odorless, alcohol-free and non-toxic. Steaming will set any dye used to color the resist, then wash out the resist, and the colored line will remain.

We in the San Diego Silk Guild have found this product to be a superior resist product. We have found this an invaluable tool for us to have in our arsenal. The product is easy to clean up just rinse applicator and nib in water. The product does NOT require heat setting prior to applying the dye. The lustre and softness of the silk is not affected by this resist so your lines can be as wide as you like them. The product arrives at your door ready to use. It is not a concentrate and there is no need to mix it or dilute it. It may be colored with any water soluble dye if you prefer colored resist lines. We have yet to find the shelf life of this lovely product. Kept in a cool room it has stayed viscous and flowing. I love the smooth consistency. -San Diego Silk Guild Suzanne Knight President

I think this product is a winner! It washed out beautifully with no excess rubbing needed. The dye stayed within the resist lines after steaming. No problem with the dye running! -Lynn M.

There are things I like about this resist and things I hate. It still does pucker the fabric and it also still stains the fabric - particularly noticeable if you are trying to leave a large white area. It ends up with yellow outlines. You don't really notice it in thin lines surrounded by color. It does occasionally still crack and a large silk I was doing was ruined because of it. I didn't notice the crack until it was too late. I like how it washes out easily and I like the flow of it but honestly the staining and cracking leaves me gutted every time I ruin a silk with it. I'm looking for an alternative for when I need a clear line in a large white area.

I love the ease of washing it out. However once applied it takes a long time to dry enough to paint and when it does dry it puckers up the silk so you no longer have a flat surface.

This resist is not as good as Sennelier water based resist. It flakes a lot and develops mold inside the bottle.

I am so sad that Sennelier discontinued their amazing clear resist. This Jacquard product is absolutely terrible! It puckers when it dries causing cracks to form in the resist. The dye flows right through these cracks causing mistakes and bleeding. The lines it creates are uneven and lumpy and doesn't soak fully through the silk especially on charmeuse or satin so it bleeds even in areas that haven't cracked. I'm now on the search for a better product. I will never buy this resist again.

It washes out easily but there is no way you can do fine lines with it. It spreads like crazy and puckers the silk when it dries. And it takes a long time to dry.

This did not work for me despite the many attempts I made using different applications. I didnt get clean lines it spread and it didnt hold up during the dying process. If you could see the design I applied with it after the item was washed it would be faded to almost not being there. I would not recommend this product. I will try beeswax and see how that goes.

It is not nearly as good as Lumi Cleanline that has been sadly discontinued. It tends to bead up. INterested if anyone has solved that!

Generally this resists works pretty well but (like a few other artists who comment on Silk Painters International site) I've had 3 problems: First I have a problem with halos when I add some colors to the resist. Blue in particular seems to have this problem. There is a blue line but a white line appears on either side of the blue line. 2) the resist is sometimes too thin and spreads a lot. I live in Hawaii so possibly working in high seventies is problematic. 3) Sometimes the jacquard does not wash out well and leaves a feel in the product despite scrubbing the area and using very warm water.That said most of the time it works well. I'm going back to Resisted as soon as possible. I never have any or these problems with Resistad though of course it is much more expensive (part of the cost is postage from New Zealand).
