If the 12mm CREPE DE CHINE scarves are the "Mercedes", here are the "Rolls Royces" of the scarf world! These are heavier also - 16.5 mm. By stone (sand) washing this heavier weight of Crepe de Chine, one gets a matte silk with a very soft, luxurious drape and a buttery suede feel. You won't want to ever remove them from your neck! This is the one that is perfect for the more sophisticated man or woman in your life. Artists, you can make a wonderful high end product by putting your artwork on these! These have hand rolled hems with 100% silk thread. Ready to dye and paint!

We recommend, especially if you are re-selling, to pre-wash in Hot water and Synthrapol or our Professional Textile Detergent, all silk before dyeing or painting to remove any leftover residue from the silk worms (Seracin) or finger prints and other stuff that can cause the fabric to dye unevenly. Our product Milsoft is excellent for restoring the soft hand to silk after dyeing.

I like the fabric, but the rolled hems puckered and did not lay flat. It ruined the drape of the scarves.

This is a lovely alternative to the satiny silk scarves. The finish is beautiful and soft and reminds me of working in pastels but the colors remain vivid.

I bought this scarf to cut and use the fabric -- not to use as a scarf! (the measurements are perfect for my purpose). I was concerned about cutting it and finishing the new edges. I was most satisfied with how the fabric behaved and love the results.
