Product Description

**Attention - we can no longer get this product. We bought the last of it and the manufacturer can no longer get the ingredients. They have send us samples of several alternatives, but they have been completely unacceptable. the last one wasn't even safe to use. We are trying to get you a substitute, but we are only going to accept one if it works and is relatively safe. For now, Sodium Alginate powdered thickener is your best bet for now.

Use this gel to thicken liquid dye solutions when applying dye directly onto the fabric, as in stenciling, painting or printing. You can even add a little to your tie-dye solutions to control the bleed of the dye and have crisper lines. Superclear rinses away during the washing out of the dyes. 320-N is a synthetic replacement for our old 80-N. You will have to adjust the following formulas to your situation. NOTE: Can be difficult or impossible to remove after extended steaming.

To reduce spreading - add 4 or more tablespoons to 8 oz. of liquid dye concentrate
To stop spreading - use 2/3 Superclear and 1/3 liquid dye concentrate
To make Fiber reactive dyes into a paint- add the dye powder to a mix of 2/3 or more Superclear and 1/3 water.

Made in: UNITED STATES (USA)

Ingredients no longer available to the manufacturer to make this product. The new alternatives they have come up with have not been acceptable.

expensive but effective and no hassle mixing. However if you like your tie-dye colors to separate out into their secondary and mixed colors, this will prevent that (which is good if that it what yu wanted)

I mixed it with procion dye and found it very useful for controlling color spreading.

It did the trick. For 8 oz of tie dye solution in a squirt bottle, I added 4 tablespoons. The dye didn't run as fast and didn't have as much excess dye on the tables.

Used this to thicken procion mx dyes for printing with my thermofax screens. Worked very well...so easy to use and you don't have to mix any chemicals. I'm new to this process and glad I tried this product. For what I'm doing though, I would prefer it a little thicker

Did not like the way the intense dye I once had became pale.

Doesn't take much to make things thick. It didn't dull the color much at all, & does a great job making the mixture thick & "clingy". It doesn't stop the coloring from creeping, but mixed into the color does prevent it from doing so. It dries pretty fast (a day it wasn't there), & the test piece was dry the next day (inside air drying). Buy triple what you think you may need, as it's only as thick as honey.
