They dye beautifully, although I was surprised that the zippers took no dye at all. This is not really a problem since the zippers are covered and are on the back side of the pillow. I would have preferred a heavier weight silk for pillow covers but have yet to use these pillows so I cannot say if the lighter weight will be a liability.

These silk pillowcases are a hit with my students. I wish you had a size to fit travel pillows as I always have to sew a seam to make them rectangular.

These pillow covers are really nice and I like having the zipper alreay sewn in. The serged edges are nice too. I don't like to sew a lot, so these save me a lot of time. They take the Dupont and Pebeo dyes really well too. I sold several of these pillow covers with a pillow insert stuffed in them. I wish that Dharma could make these in silk charmeuse too, with the open seams and the zipper sewn in.

One zipper out of the dozen we ordered failed. We'll see how the others hold up. Otherwise good product for the $$.

I used one of these in a silk painting demonstration at our local senior citizen center. Many of the attendants asked for a class so they can make a pillow. What I am learning is that although the silk is advertised as 15" wide, it is really about 14" when hemmed. As a result, I need to have my silk stretcher frames made with a 13" opening so that the silk can overlap the wood enough to be pinned down easily. Perhaps a note to that effect might be helpful to those who stretch their silk for hand-painting.
