These babies come in four sizes: (14"x14", 16"x16", 18"x18", 24"x24") each available with Open or Closed seams.
For silk painting, order them with open side seams for easy stretching and painting. For tie-dye order them all sewn up. In either case, the zipper is already sewn in place.
Made in China with 100% 10mm Habotai silk and sewn with silk thread. They take a standard pillow insert you can buy at fabric stores.

LOVE the pre-made pillows! Sewing silk just drives me NUTS. I put paper between the layers and used the French Serti technique as successfully as if they were the open pieces! A little carefully measured and cut butcher paper and I was in business!

They dye beautifully, although I was surprised that the zippers took no dye at all. This is not really a problem since the zippers are covered and are on the back side of the pillow. I would have preferred a heavier weight silk for pillow covers but have yet to use these pillows so I cannot say if the lighter weight will be a liability.

These silk pillowcases are a hit with my students. I wish you had a size to fit travel pillows as I always have to sew a seam to make them rectangular.

Great pillow covers, love that they are pre-sewn and have a zipper closing--very convenient! Remember that these cannot be stretched on a frame so I have found it best to place on table covered with newsprint and paint the wax on, ensuring that it penetrates through both sides so that the dye won't bleed. Another option, if you want to make the design different on each side or only on one side, put newsprint inside the cover so that the wax doesn't get on both sides of the cover. Takes fiber reactive dye beautifully!

These pillow covers are very nice. I like that they have a sewn-in zipper and serged edges. It makes it much easier for me to sew the open seams up. They also take the French silk dyes beautifully.

These pillow covers are really nice and I like having the zipper alreay sewn in. The serged edges are nice too. I don't like to sew a lot, so these save me a lot of time. They take the Dupont and Pebeo dyes really well too. I sold several of these pillow covers with a pillow insert stuffed in them. I wish that Dharma could make these in silk charmeuse too, with the open seams and the zipper sewn in.

One zipper out of the dozen we ordered failed. We'll see how the others hold up. Otherwise good product for the $$.
