Product Description

Take anything you print on an INK JET PRINTER and with a home iron or heat press and transfer the image to fabric or clothing.

Now in NEW 17" x 150' ROLLs for those really big projects!

Of the transfer papers we sell, this one is our favorite. This paper is super soft and leaves practically no feel on the fabric. Unlike traditional transfer papers it's stretchy as well. Since it's stretchy it allows you to transfer on to a broader range of knit fabrics.

Due to the super soft feel of this paper, the image quality looks a little less crisp/bright than normal transfer papers like our Professional Transfer paper. That’s because the polymers really do sink into the fabric, rather than sit on top like traditional transfer papers. The final product will be more distressed, or “vintage” in appearance with virtually no feel at all on the t-shirt.

When transferring onto synthetics be aware of the melt point of the fabric. You don't want to get the heatpress or iron so hot that the fabric becomes damaged. The instructions say 375-400 degrees F, but in all reality you can turn down the temperature and it will still transfer. You will have to increase press time however. The manufacturer suggests to start at 375 and go from there. They have had success transferring onto cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, lycra, spandex, denim, silk, canvas, and even on plywood!

From our own tests we find it works best on knit fabrics like Jersey, so it is fabulous on tee shirts! It also works very well on stretchier knits like Cotton Lycra, and Rib Knit. On woven fabrics it will be considerably stiffer. So we recommend using this on Jersey for the best results.  The benefits of this paper don't stop there, you can actually iron over the transfer after it's on the shirt. Wow!! We love this stuff!

Use with a home iron, or for quicker, better results, and production work, try one of our heat presses (it'll change your life!). As with all transfer papers, it is better to pre-wash before applying your transfer, although with the stretch this has, and the way it sinks into the fabric, customers have said you can get away with not, which is another big plus.

For use only on white or light colored fabrics. For instructions click here.

Note from the manufacturer: During the cutting phase the paper can sometimes retain a small amount of cast off, dry coating. This cast off coating can appear to be small specks or flakes visible on the surface of the paper. Simply dust off your inkjet page before putting it through the printer.

Please note that transfer paper DOES have a shelf life; it lasts about 6 months depending upon storage. It must be kept sealed in its plastic bag. High humidity or dry conditions can shorten its shelf life.

It is also handy to know that this paper can be distinguished from other types by the whole back of each sheet being a light blue.

Some newer pigment based inks may react differently with various transfer papers, causing color shifts after heat setting. As always we recommend testing products, processes, and techniques before you start a large project.

  1. Choose your image and do a test print on regular paper first to be sure it’s how you want it to appear. Remember your transfer will be ironed on the shirt face down so you’ll need to reverse the image so any text or numerals read properly on the fabric. Place the paper carefully in the paper tray after fanning on all four sides. Make sure the paper is not curled or bent at the leading edge.
  2. Print on treated (rough/matte) side. Not the shiny paper backing. (When printing we recommend 360 dpi or normal setting).

Important: After printing your image, do your transfer as soon as the ink is dry. If you don’t plan on doing your transfer within an hour or so, store the printed sheet in a plastic bag so the paper does not dry out.

Using a Hand Iron

  1. Prepare the material you will be transferring on by ironing on a flat hard smooth non-porous surface. Use a counter top covered with an ironing sheet or pillowcase in order to protect the surface. Do not use an ironing board it’s too soft.
  2. Place the image face down on your fabric.
  3. The manufacturer suggests using a heat resistant tape to hold the transfer steady while ironing. Another alternative would be to use a teflon sheet, press cloth or parchment paper to hold the transfer paper in one place and ensure proper heat and connection time between ink and substrate.
  4. Iron your transfer with lots of pressure for 2-3 minutes over each small section of the transfer, first going in one direction, then going in the opposite direction. Use the cotton setting. NO STEAM! The iron has to be dry.
  5. Let the transfer cool for 3 minutes or so, then you can carefully peel off the paper backing.

Using a commercial heat press

  1. Set heat press for 375°.
  2. Set heat press for medium pressure.
  3. Apply pressure for 25 seconds.
  4. The transfer paper can be peeled hot or cold.

Storage: (Important)

Transfer paper DOES have a shelf life ~ 6 months depending upon storage. Paper must be kept sealed in it’s plastic bag. High humidity or dry conditions can shorten shelf life. Store the paper flat in a cool, dark place.

I used this with a heat transfer press and it worked great. The only problem I had with the paper sticking was because I did not let the machine heat up to the correct temperature.

Hard to figure out which side is the printable side. I waste sheets every time I print. Hint: It's NOT the BLUE side!

This is the best paper I've ever used. Soft soft soft and so easy to use. It practically peels itself off as you're transferring. Nice images plenty of color!

as i sit here reading the reviews i'm wondering if some of the folks that wrote crappy reviews were using the new paper that was sold for a very short while instead of the blue backing paper..."feels like plastic"...? That is not at all the blue back paper. The paper that Dharma has now is fantastic it is so soft and the ink just fuses into the fabric.

Got here quickly and amazing product. We wasted a couple sheets because we held the iron on too long but once we got the hang of it the product worked great!

I had hoped these would be softer. Maybe the wrong product for my purposes or maybe a printer issue. However they do a great job and are easy to use.

I never leave reviews for products but I LOVE THIS TRANSFER PAPER so much I felt it was almost my duty. I wanted to make some cute cheap onesies for my baby using iron on transfers. Well many different brands of transfer paper and ruined onesies later my project has run me close to $100. All the other transfer papers I tried (and there were a lot) cracked and peeled like crazy the first time I stuck them in the wash. But this transfer paper is AMAZING. It actually gets better every time you wash it! It doesn't peel at all and the cracks are barely noticeable -- just the result of using knit fabrics. I will definitely be buying again. Great great great product.

I also had poor results from a recent batch of transfer papers. Both sealed packages had flaking already upon arrival. The papers appeared dried and cracked. The ink transferred poorly. Customer service was great however provided a full refund upon request.

Easy to use and gives a great result. I've used other transfer papers that leave a shiny artificial looking finish this one is very natural looking
