Jersey is a knitted, very slightly stretchy fabric with a smooth flat face and a more textured but uniform back. It is what basic t-shirts are made of. This one is a nice weight with a very usable width of 58 to 60".
Fabric Details
- 100% combed ringspun cotton
- 3.4 oz per sq yd and 60" wide
- 2-way stretch
- You can dye this with our Fiber Reactive Dyes
- Suggested usage: custom made over sized tops and tees, costuming, theater draperies, sportswear, skirts and dresses, fabric sculpture (fabric wrapped and pulled over infrastructure, then painted with gesso) etc.
- We found that this shrinks 4% in length and 1% in width disclaimer
- Available in cut yardage (bulk discounts levels at 10+ , 25+ yds.) and in 100 yard bolts
- Machine wash in any temperature water
Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.

I have three two-yard almost squares that I use for hijabs when I work out. they're light and absorbent and totally washable. I recommend you at every turn!!

For the price if you are a beginning dyersewer it cant be beat. Be warned your colors will look NOWHERE near as bright as some of the more expensive fabrics but that is to be expected. If you mess up and you have to seamrip there will be BIG holes in the fabric. Not very soft very thin almost see through at times after you dye it. I would only recommend as practice fabric or if you only are going to wear the item once and not sell it. But for the price hey its good dyeable fabric.

Light as a feather and it does take dye well. I could not be happier. I prefer this weight for scarves T's and skirts that I want to be loose and flowy. I can get this to dye a solid in the washing machine if I want to but it dyes up beautifully with a low water immersion dye as well. Spin it out with the soda in the fabric and you won't get much dye drift. You can almost paint the fabric with the dyes and a squeeze bottle. Excellent product. Seam ripping is a pain with this so careful putting in sleeves. I know I put mine in inside out more than I want to admit.

The service was excellent as usual. This jersey was exactly as described: thinner than the CJ60 but I used it as a double layer where the CJ60 was used as the under-layer and this JER40 as the top layer. It worked out to be perfect. It also dyed nicely.

Great fabric! It's much lighter than the other cotton jersey Dharma carries. This is definitely a light jersey. The weight based on 6.5 ozlinear yard mentioned in the description is about 4 ozsquare yard.

The quality of this jersey was better than I'd expected it to be. Really soft fabric and a great hand. I'll be using this to layer over the Cotton Jersey PFD.

As described it is very light weight. Has a bit of sheerness as is but opaque when dyed. I can make lightweight skirts with one layer.. very light and airy. Also has a more moderate stretch and recovers "ok" for the weight of it. wouldn't try yanking on it but a hot dryer would probably recover it. Also took dye nicely
